Liverpool coach Arne Slot received a red card after the final whistle of the previous heated derby match in February, when Everton scored a last-minute equaliser.

The reds recently lost the Carabao Cup to Newcastle United, and were knocked out the Champions League by PSG last month on penalties; the team will be pushing to secure the title.

Both Liverpool and Everton haven't played a match in 2 weeks offering players to recover from injuries.

However, the international break created some concerns for Liverpool; key players Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch and Conor Bradley all faced injury worries.

While Bradley, Gomez and Morton have been out for some time, Becker and Gravenberch sustained injuries with their national teams.

Alexander-Arnold has been in the news headlines this past week; he picked up an injury against PSG which forced him off, leading him to miss the Carabao Cup final.

The star trio - Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, and Mohammed Salah - all have contracts expiring at the end of the season.

Two of Liverpool's top players, Van Dijk and Salah, are expected to extend their contract, but questions are circulating around Alexander-Arnold's future career.

The team are set to lose the right-back as it has been reported that he may leave his boyhood club and is close to finalising an agreement with Real Madrid.

In the pre-match press conference Slot had positive news on three players: he said Gravenberch is fit to play, Alisson trained with the team and will have a final check-up, and Bradley is back training, "but he's only had a few sessions after being out for quite some time, so we have to make a smart decision".

Wednesday's clash will see high emotions, similar to last time, with the previous fixture seeing the most red cards in Premier League history.

Everton coach David Moyes has never won a Premier League match at Anfield, but he said the chaotic scenes in the previous derby could have an impact on tomorrow's game.

With only 9 games left this season, and a comfortable 12-point lead over Arsenal, Slot is confident with his team - despite their blip before the break and injury concerns.

All eyes will be on Anfield to watch the intense Merseyside showdown, as Liverpool push to secure the title, and Everton hope to derail these dreams.
